What do I need to start my driving lessons?

To start lessons on public road you need a provisional driver license and you must be 17 ( 16 if you get, or have applied for, the enhanced rate of the mobility component of Personal Independence Payment).
How do I get my provisional driving licence?

There are two methods to get it, one way is to apply online on the website "www.gov.uk/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence". Another way is to apply by post by filling in the form D1.
Do I need to pass a theory test before I start my driving lessons?

No, you can drive before taking a theory test.
Do I need my own car to take my driving exam?

No, you can take your exam in a driving instructor's car IF you acheive a required standard for the driving test.
